Biesterfeld and Celanese: global expansion and enhanced joint portfolio as of 2024

In the beginning of 2024, the international distributor Biesterfeld and leading technical plastics manufacturer Celanese are strengthening their partnership. The two companies have agreed to expand their joint portfolio and work together to explore new markets.

Extended distribution rights in the EMEA region have been granted to Biesterfeld for the Rynite® PETP, Selar® PA, Zytel HTN® PPA and Santoprene® TPV product ranges. In addition to the exclusive distribution rights in most of the EMEA region, Biesterfeld will now also distribute these materials non-exclusively in Finland, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, the UK, Ireland and the Baltic states. The exception is Santoprene® TPV, which will remain exclusively distributed by Biesterfeld in Finland, Norway, Sweden and Denmark. In the Middle East and Israel, non-exclusive distribution rights have also been granted, while a mutually exclusive partnership has been established in South Africa.

Biesterfeld will now have new distribution rights for Celanex® PBT, Celanyl® PA, Ecomid® recycled PA and Frianyl® PA product ranges in addition to their current distribution rights for Crastin® PBT, Hytrel® TPC and Zytel® PA. These new rights will cover the entire EMEA region.

We are excited to announce the addition of Tynex® filaments to our product portfolio. As of now, our distributor will have exclusive distribution rights for this product in the EMEA region.

The collaboration between South-East Asia and Brazil will see continued growth as the companies expand their presence in the ASEAN region. A new exclusive agreement has been reached for the Santoprene® TPV product family to support this expansion. In Brazil, distribution rights will also be expanded to include complementary product ranges.

„We’re delighted to be expanding our global strategic partnership with Celanese,” says Martin Rathke, Business Manager Engineering Polymers, Biesterfeld Plastic. „Celanese has grown to become the world’s largest manufacturer of engineering thermoplastics. The new agreement will enable us to amplify our successful and trusting partnership. We have great opportunities for shared growth in the years ahead, not just in the EMEA region but also in Brazil and, above all, in South-East Asia. We look forward to continuing our successful cooperation.”
