The participation of the LemON Tour is a deliberate choice, as it provides a unique opportunity to focus on Europe and the future, emphasizing the strong connection between nature and tradition that defines the Syracuse Lemon PGI. This event is part of a series of activities dedicated to sustainability and the safeguarding of certified products, which are key topics in the upcoming G7 Agriculture summit. The Consortium is dedicated to upholding the identity and authenticity of the Syracuse Lemon PGI, aligning with the principles of the European project that prioritizes sustainability and the protection of natural resources. Additionally, this stage will facilitate discussions with other consortia and international organizations, fostering collaborative strategies to protect protected geographical indications (PGIs) and promote sustainable agricultural practices.

Konsorcjum Ochrony Cytryny Syrakuzyjskiej PGI jest jedną z najważniejszych społeczności upraw cytrusowych w Europie. Powstałe 13 lipca 2000 roku, obejmuje 163 członków konsorcjum: 130 producentów, 60 pakowaczy, 36 użytkowników i 62 ambasadorów, dla obszaru 1 450,91 hektara, co stanowi 32% produkcji włoskiej. Na poziomie produkcji Konsorcjum reprezentuje 100% produkcji Limone di Siracusa PGI, a na poziomie krajowym 3 cytryny na 100 pochodzi z obszaru Syrakuz. Zadania Konsorcjum obejmują identyfikację obszarów produkcji i odmian podlegających ochronie, nadzór nad działaniami w obszarze pochodzenia i na rynkach w zakresie poprawnego użycia nazwy „Limone di Siracusa IGP” oraz realizację inicjatyw promocyjnych w kraju i za granicą mających na celu rozpowszechnianie wiedzy, wizerunku produktu i znaku towarowego IGP.
