Culligan Acquires Primo Water International Businesses Across Europe, Advances Mission to Increase Access to Clean, Sustainable, Better-Tasting Water

The transaction encompasses all of Primo Water EMEA’s businesses, except for those in the UK, Portugal, and Israel, as well as Aimia Foods. Culligan now has 1.35 million installed water coolers under its service, with 8,000 employees and strategic locations and production sites across EMEA. Additionally, Culligan is entering markets in Poland, Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia.

On January 2, 2024, Culligan, a leading brand in sustainable water solutions, announced the successful acquisition of a majority of Primo Water Corporation’s businesses in EMEA, excluding the UK, Portugal, and Israel. This strategic move expands Culligan’s presence in 12 countries where it currently operates, and marks its entry into the markets of Poland, Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia.

The leadership of the newly merged businesses in Europe will be taken over by Jeremy Ben-David, CEO of Culligan EMEA.

Culligan is broadening its current operations in several European countries, including the Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, France, Luxembourg, Switzerland, Spain, Germany, and Hungary. Additionally, the company is entering new markets in Poland, Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia. With a workforce of 8,000 employees and strategic locations and production sites across EMEA, Culligan now services 1.35 million installed water coolers.

The deal between Culligan and Primo Water was finalized on Dec. 29, 2023.
