31.10.2024 – Köln (ots) | The European CIVIS Media Prize competition is now open for submissions. Media professionals from all EU countries and Switzerland have until 12 December 2024 to submit their entries online, focusing on the topics of migration, integration, cultural diversity, and related issues of social cohesion. The CIVIS Media Prize recognizes exceptional work in television, radio, internet, and social media that promotes peaceful coexistence among people from different geographical and cultural backgrounds. The CIVIS Media Prize is supported by ARD, represented by WDR, and the Freudenberg Foundation, along with media partners ORF, SRG SSR, ARTE, 3sat, Deutsche Welle, Deutschlandradio, and EBU. Cooperation partners include WDR mediagroup, the Allianz Deutscher Produzentinnen und Produzenten – Film, TV und Audiovisuelle Medien e.V., the Verwertungsgesellschaft der Film- und Fernsehproduzenten, the European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights (FRA), the Open Society Foundations, and the Deutsche Postcode Lotterie.
The non-profit CIVIS Media Foundation in Cologne is responsible for organizing the competition, jury meetings, and award ceremony.
The European CIVIS Media Prize aims to encourage media professionals to creatively and constructively address the topics of migration, integration, cultural diversity, and social cohesion, and to do so in a (self-)critical manner when necessary.
